Ariana Grande Mourns Mac Miller On Twitter: He Is Supposed To Be Here

This is heartbreaking.

Ariana Grande responded to a fan's tweet that included an old Instagram Live video of Mac Miller listening to her song 'R.E.M.' before it was released. The 26-year-old rapper tragically passed away from an overdose in September and his ex-girlfriend/close friend has been open about her grief with fans

Ariana replied to the tweet three times. Her first response: "his voice and laugh." She followed that up by saying: "he is supposed to be here." Her last tweet simply read, "thank u for finding this."

Despite their breakup last spring, Ariana always made it clear to her fans how much she cared for Mac. After news of their split broke, she took to Instagram to shut down any speculation that there was bad blood between the two. "This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet," Ariana wrote. "I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!"

Following his tragic passing, Ariana took to Instagram once again to express her feelings. "I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore," Grande captioned a sweet video of her late ex. "I really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. I’m so mad, I'm so sad I don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. I'm so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest."

Ariana included a sweet tribute to Mac in her new song "thank u, next," as well. "Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm," she sings. "Cause he was an angel."
