'Home Improvement' Star Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested In Domestic Incident

Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested this weekend on charges of domestic abuse.

The Home Improvement alum was booked in Eugene, Oregon, on Friday night (October 16), for allegedly strangling his girlfriend after a neighbor called to report a domestic dispute. According to TMZ, Bryan and the woman had spent the night out at a club before the two got into an argument at his home that escalated to violence. Per the report, Bryan allegedly wrapped his hands around his girlfriend’s neck and squeezed.

It’s also reported that Bryan attempted to take away his girlfriend’s phone when she attempted to call 911. That’s when the woman fled across the street to hide. Bryan was sitting outside his home while his girlfriend remained at the neighbor’s house.

Bryan was charged with strangulation, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and interfering with making a report. As TMZ indicates, the star remained in police custody at the Lane County Jail on Saturday afternoon.

The domestic incident comes just weeks after the actor separated from his wife of 14 years, Carly Matros, with whom he shares four children.

Bryan is best known for portraying Brad Taylor — the eldest son of Tim Allen’s character Tim Taylor — on the beloved ‘90s show. Popularized on the family-friendly show for his trouble-making ways and experimental hairstyles, Bryan’s work on the show earned him the 1999 Young Artist Award.
