Katy Perry is playing coy about her reported new romance.

Perry had a cheeky response to a fan's marriage proposal during the first London stop of her Lifetimes Tour on Monday (October 13) and appeared to hint at her romance with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, per People. She invited a fan named Darren on stage who told her he "heard [she's] single" before he got down on one knee and unveiled a handmade sign that read "Katy Perry will you marry me?"

"You heard I was single? That's interesting," she said as the audience cheered. After Perry gently shut down his proposal, telling him "not today," she added, "You know you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago."

The "Woman's World" singer was seemingly referring to her recent yacht excursion with Trudeau after the pair were seen kissing on a boat in Santa Barbara in photos obtained by the Daily Mail.

Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors in July after they were spotted enjoying a meal together in Montreal. The date came weeks after the "Firework" hitmaker split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom. Trudeau also shares three children with estranged wife Sophie Grégoire, who he separated from in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

A source recently told People that the new lovebirds have an "easy connection" and that while Trudeau has "been pursuing her since" their Montreal date, he has "been very respectful" amid her busy schedule and recent breakup.

"When she first hung out with Justin, she wasn't looking to date, but they stayed in touch," the source said. "They have many shared interests and a lot [to] talk about, but Katy was navigating too many things to even think about dating then."
