If you're a big fan of iced coffee, next time you get Starbucks you will notice that your cup will have a straw-less lids.
Starting today, the chain announced that their strawless lids are the standard for iced beverages and licensed stores in the U.S. and Canada. These lids are already pretty common, so you've probably seen them before. The full-roll out is expected to happen by the end of this month.
So if you plan on picking up your Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew soon, this is what you'll be getting! This comes after a year of test running lids that allow you to sip on ice drinks without the use of a single plastic straw. It's also part of an effort to prevent one billion straws a year from ending up in landfills. They are made up with 9% plastic than the traditional plastic flat lid and straw combined.
