10 More Fun, Viral Moments from the Past Day of the Olympics
Â
Here's a rundown of some of the fun, viral moments from the past day of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
 Â
1. For starters, Simone Biles is still AMAZING. Simone's performance on the uneven bars is trending. And 16-year-old Hezly Rivera . . . the youngest member of Team USA . . . was pretty awesome herself.
 Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
2.  Snoop Dogg has been EVERYWHERE during the Summer Olympics. But you need to hear his commentary during a badminton match between the U.S. and China? "Gimme that, no I need that, no over here, no other there . . ."
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
3. This is pretty epic: After winning Olympic gold in the women's 100-meter fly, American Torri Huske invited her teammate Gretchen Walsh, who got silver, to stand on the top of the podium with her for the U.S. national anthem.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
4. There was a weird moment during a team handball event, where a few fans were shown in the audience . . . dressed as the Mona Lisa?
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
5. Who says grandparents aren't hip to skateboarding? There's video online of American skateboarder Paige Heyn checking in with her grandpa, virtually.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
6. Viewers noticed that Dutch artistic gymnast Casimir Schmidt has the Super Mario character Toad AND the Pokémon character Mew tattooed on his arm.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
7. There's a new American ICON. Everyone is freaking out over this nerdy pommel horse guy named Steve . . . who came through in the clutch to deliver a bronze for U.S. Men's Gymnastics. That's their first medal in 16 YEARS.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
His name is Stephen Nedoroscik, and you need to see his victorious routine.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
It wasn't just him:  Paul Juda slayed his vault . . . Brody Malone did his thing on the parallel bars . . . Frederick Richard demolished that high bar . . . and Asher Hong aced the rings. But Stephen has become the story.
Â
Here's one of the best social media reactions: "Taking off your glasses to then perform a near-perfect routine on the pommel horse is so freaking metal."
Â
Â
8. Other men drew attention in another way. A French diver named Jules Bouyer is going viral . . . not just for his aquatic skills, but for the size of the bulge in his swim trunks.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Dutch swimmer Arno Kamminga is also getting some attention in his nether regions . . . but most of that is due to the odd, flesh-colored Dutch uniforms.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
9.  Jason Kelce tried to show off his strength in Paris by challenging USA women's rugby star Nicole Heavirland to an arm-wrestling match. The face-off took place right after Team USA won their match against Brazil . . . and Nicole was still wearing her uniform.
Â
Jason won . . . but in a comment online, his wife Kylie says he CHEATED by holding onto the table. Jason claims it was legal.
Â
Â
Â
Â
10. The new Google ad celebrating A.I. is going viral . . . in a bad way.
Â
In the ad, a father describes his daughter's love for American Olympic track star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. He asks Google's Gemini chatbot to generate a letter from his daughter to Sydney.  (Here's the ad.)
Â
But critics say it seems so out of touch . . . because why would anyone want to replace a child's personal creativity and authentic expression with words written by a computer?
Â
One comment online said, "The Google commercial where the dad has his daughter use A.I. to construct a note to her favorite athlete, rather than encourage her to write what she actually wants to tell her hero, takes a little chunk out of my soul every time I see it."
