The Latest Viral Olympic Moments
Here's a rundown of the latest viral moments from the Olympics:
1. This might be the coolest picture you ever see: Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina and his board, seemingly suspended in mid-air. FYI, Olympic surfing is happening in Tahiti . . . and the Olympic Village over there is actually a CRUISE SHIP.
And yes, the surfers are kinda rubbing it in.
2. Simone Biles is now the most decorated U.S. gymnast in history, thanks to Team USA bringing home the gold. She has EIGHT Olympic medals: Five gold, one silver, and two bronze. As NBC's Olympic Twitter put it: "Comeback complete."
3. Pollution levels in the Seine River have been a big concern leading up to the Summer Games, and it looks like they never got them under control. The men's triathlon was postponed yesterday, supposedly due to pollution caused by heavy rains.
4. Is U.S. diver Tyler Downs just in Paris to stare at the hot athletes?
5. Jason Kelce is such a superfan of women's rugby, he has a shirt with star player Ilona Maher's face on it.
6. I don't know if it's too early to talk about the 2028 games in Los Angeles, but there will be six sports we're NOT seeing this year. Cricket and Lacrosse are returning in '28. Both have been absent as medal events for over 100 YEARS.
Baseball and Softball are also making their comebacks.
And two sports will make their debuts at the next summer games: Squash and Flag Football.
